Anniversary
It’s been a year now since I was laid off from my job as a novels editor at Wizards of the Coast. Looking back, it’s pretty clear this wasn’t my best year.
Also I’m slightly worried about my novels coming true in real life to some extent . . . Write a book about a young woman getting kicked out of a profession that’s become a major part of her identity, get kicked out of a position that’s become a major part of own identity.
I definitely hope if that happens again I just get the cool tattoo or to be really good with a polearm.
Anyway, new year. New life. New plans. New attempt at blogging.
Here’s the problem I have with blogging when my life is demanding: it’s what I want to talk about. It’s not really professional (or interesting) for me to talk about my lost job. It’s not really in the scope of the blog to talk about my pregnancy (you guys don’t want to hear about that . . . I think). It’s outside my NDA to talk about Brimstone Angels too much (although I get a looser leash when the Neverwinter Campaign Guide comes out shortly and the world gets introduced to Rohini). And these? Crept into every blog I’ve tried to write in the last year.
But with a year past, a new project, and a clearer head . . . I’ll see what I can do here.
